Youth Services Librarian: Early Childhood, Grade School & Family Event Coordinator
Full Time: (37.5 hours/ week – includes evenings and weekends)
Full-time Youth Services Librarian in a department serving children through grade 8. This position is responsible for planning, proposing, and performing library programs for an active early childhood and 1st-3rd grade audience. This position also plans and schedules family events for the library. Additional responsibilities include providing collection development, reference and readers' advisory services. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children in high volume, challenging situations. Ideal candidates will also be flexible, self-motivated, creative, personable and enthusiastic. Spanish speaking skills preferred.
• ALA accredited Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science
• Experience working with children and their caregivers
• In-depth knowledge of children’s literature
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Firm understanding of current technology
Salary: Starting at $43,505 annually.
