Meet Your Librarians

I commute to work from a far off land called Chicago and reside with the two most important people in my life; my cats. I spends my time cruising down the 606 on my bicycle, playing video games, going to music shows (Any Flume fans out there??), and reading. You knew reading was going to fall on that list somewhere, right? As an avid reader, I would be delighted to give you book recommendations, especially if you’re looking in the YA section.

Myself being the Teen Librarian, I try to keep up with what’s trending in YA literature. I’m most fond of books that evoke physical responses. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green made me sob from sadness, Sorta Like a Rockstar by Matthew Quick had me crying from happiness, 127 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad disturbed me enough to sleep with my lights on, and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews had me maniacally laughing on a train platform. You may be able to tell from my reading habits that I have a pretty big personality. You can usually find me bouncing around the Teen Room after school; I’m pretty hard to miss.

Favorite authors: Scott Westerfeld, Lev Grossman, John Green (All Teen Librarians are required to list this dude), Brian Vaughn, A.S. King
