Slide by Jill Hathaway
Vee has the ability to slide into people's minds if she has touched an object that contains their essence. Everyone around her believes she suffers from narcolepsy. Often she learns startling secrets about her classmates, but one day, she slips into the mind of her sister's friend and sees someone standing over her with a knife. The police and the entire school think the girl committed suicide; Vee knows the truth and begins an investigation.
This book reminded me a little of the Wake trilogy by Lisa McMann. The author made Vee's ability and struggles appear believable. I also appreciated the supporting characters including Rollins who has secrets of his own.
