English Language Learners (ELL) Conversation Groups

Practice English skills at these drop-in ELL groups. If you prefer individual instruction, you may schedule a 30-minute session by emailing librarian Dave Jansen at djansen@glensidepld.org, Isabel Huerta at ihuerta@glensidepld.org or by calling 630-260-1550.

  • Mondays: 7:00–8:00 pm
  • Tuesdays: 10:00–11:00 am (Women’s Group)
  • Wednesday: 9:15–10:00 am

Citizenship Study Group

Practice the citizenship test, rehearse for the naturalization interview and prepare for the Oath of Allegiance. Sessions are scheduled throughout the year on Mondays from 6–8 PM in the Board Room. Literacy Collection

Our Literacy Collection has books, DVDs, audiobooks and many other helpful resources for people who are learning English or are new to the United States. Look in the Literacy section at the Library for:

  • Information about citizenship classes and resources passing the test in many languages
  • The latest news on legislature on immigration topics
  • Health literacy resources, including options for free or low cost health care
  • GED brochures
  • ESL classes information flyers

Book A Librarian

Book a librarian to assist you with new or ongoing projects. Whether you are updating a resume or scanning old photos, we are here to help! Patrons are able to book one 60-minute appointment per week. Appointment requests can be made by clicking the “Fill Out A Form” button and submitting the requested information.
