Big news! Our library community is growing! On December 9, 2020 we will be joining the SWAN library consortium, a network of 100 libraries. You will have access to hundreds of thousands more materials – books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and more – and your library card will work at any of the other libraries in our network! While we are busy working to make this transition as seamless as possible for you, it is important to share a few mile markers you will see on this road trip.
Slight Detour: November 23 – December 8, 2020 – Partial Catalog Freeze
During this period, our library cannot add new material to the library catalog. This means you will see a delay in adding the latest Best Sellers on the shelf. Other than availability of brand new materials for you to check out, this freeze should have minimal impact on you.
Construction Ahead: December 4 – December 8, 2020 – “Checkout-Only” Period
During this time, you can check out material, but that activity will not be reflected immediately in My Account in the online catalog. We will update you on the roadmap as we approach our destination. For those who like to pack ahead, here’s a list of what you can and can’t do during this time:
Can Do
- Search for materials in the online catalog
- Pick up holds if you have already been notified
- Check out materials at the circulation desk
- Access e-resources like OverDrive, Axis360, and Hoopla through those apps/websites
Can’t Do
- See availability of materials in the online catalog
- Place holds
- Log in to My Account
- Pay bills
- Check items in
- Download electronic materials or place holds directly from the library’s online catalog
- Receive materials delivered from another library
- Renew materials (auto-renewals will resume on December 8)
